My poorly little Molly

Today has been pretty awful...

It started off so normal, we woke up, had breakfast, got in the car and headed off for a countryside walk. We  have that same routine all the time but on this occasion Molly had a scuffle with a Jack Russell Terrier which bit her so hard under her front left armpit the skin was actually dangling against the leg. 

I was a complete mess, there was blood and as it was a bank holiday it took a while for us to find a pet hospital that could take her. We did eventually find one an hour away and they said, as we expected, that it was a pretty bad bite. 

We had to leave her there for a 4 hour operation where they trimmed the dangling skin off and sowed the wound up. As it was so huge, it had to be drained too and of course she had to be put under general aesthetic to have this done. 

We finally got her home about an hour ago - she's still pretty groggy from the drugs and we have numerous visits back to the vets so they can keep an eye out on things but she seems pretty okay. 

They've shaved her fur and over the bandages is a purple wrap so it looks like she's wearing a jumper.

My girl is fine though and after being at the emergency vets, I saw 3 different families who didn't get to take their beloved pet home.... Molly was the lucky one today.
