A walk in the Woods

Me & the girls explored the woods recently! They absolutely love it.

It is the perfect place to play hide and seek and they found me every time!

my guard dog

Just kidding ;)

But she sure does love sitting on the stairs, she can sit and wait for people to come home for so long!
Sometimes, even when the house is full of people, she comes and sits in the hallway just watching out the window, listening for sounds outdoors! She's a funny one :)

the act of balancing

She makes me laugh! I'm pretty sure she'll let me put anything on her head as long as she gets a big treat :)

Recently

Life has been very 'the norm' for us lately

We've been walking at the same walks, Jess rolling and Molly fetching. It's nice!

Jess has recently taken to rolling in sloppy poop! She had 2 showers in 5 days and rolled in it so much she had to be walked home and was banned from the car haha!

They're doing really well and I've decided to stop looking at those beauty boxes that pick out 5 random items and ship it to you each month and instead get a box of doggie items that me, Jess & Molly can enjoy together, I'm really excited to get the first box!

our walkies through the iPhone & Vitamins for dogs

I went through a slight phase of constantly snapping pictures of my dogs every day walks and putting them on instagram! I'm still slightly obsessed however my love for my big camera has come back ten-fold (finally). I think it's because it is just so convenient with my phone, I have to take it anyways! Plus, sometimes, since I walk them on my own a lot, it is something that entertains me, Molly has the fetch, Jess has the smells and I have the picture taking = Win - win - win!

As our walkies have gone up a step now that Spring/Summer is with us, Molly is exercising so much more and the poor puppy is feeling the effects afterwards when we are relaxing.
I've ordered some joint tablets for dogs and once received, I might do a little review on how/if they help with her stiffness after walks. I hope so! She loves fetch so much and will do it till she drops, but I can't keep her doing it if it means she's struggling afterwards!

Also, two days ago on our walk, Jess came within 2 ft of a massive rabbit. They both just stared at each other frozen haha! Jess didn't move and the rabbit didn't move, just stared at each other until I called her away! It was funny seeing my little stubborn madam froze to the spot for a rabbit, I know if it would have run her instincts would have got her to chase it so I suppose everything worked out quite good :)

little mutts.

I saw this on Pinterest (along with a huge pile of really funny photos... I'm actually going to post my favourites on another post because I think it's only fair I share the giggles ;) )

Back to the quote though, it reminds me of the time before I adopted Jess, and I was kinda stuck on the idea of getting a purebred puppy, price didn't matter, that's what I wanted cos it's what's most socially accepted. I mean, don't get me wrong, every dog is accepted, but I do find that as soon as people ask me what my dogs breeds are and I reply that they're mixed, people kinda lose interest. My heart was stuck on a Springer Spaniel or a Husky cos they were cute and I liked reading about there character traits, however, 4 and half years after owning 2 mutts, I can honestly say that my little mongrels have been even better on the character front than I could have ever dreamed of.... I could never have aimed to get two dogs as different as they are, even if I read a million books on dog breeds and picked the two most opposites.

That's what I love about mutts, the surprise, the differences, the fact you have no idea what you're going to get until it's too late ;)

Here's a bunch of pictures from my phone of my girls over the last 2 months -

The ball trick

This is probably Molly's most impressive trick. She gets to geared up and focused when she starts to do it :)

We started off with treats, then flat objects and then when she got really good we used the almighty ball haha

I need a video of this to show off her focused face!

We're still here

We're still here and I apologise for not commenting on people's blogs yet!!
I've just come back from an amazing trip to Prague, Czech Republic. It was without a doubt one of the most beautiful city's I've ever seen and wow, more fairy lights I've ever seen too. It looked beautiful for Christmas! I missed my pups though :-)

We're very excited for Christmas and now I have all my family's presents bought I have the fun task of dog shopping. Molly will definitely get some balls as we're down to the last few!

Molly also almost broke my nose on Friday! Little girl is so excitable she's given me nose bleeds & busted lips in the past but this time.... It hurt! It still hurts now although I was being dramatic saying its broke! Haha. Jess is such a calm thing she definitely gets it from Dad!

Oh and last thing, the girls had their Christmas photoshoot for the card that goes out! Since I can't post cards out to our blogging friends, ill post it on here closer to Christmas :-). I'm looking forward to catching up very soon!!

Always holding something in the mouth

Jess very rarely picks anything up with her mouth (not even her puppies), Molly on the other hand.... Complete opposite! She panics if someone comes home and she can't find anything to hold, because of this, she once grabbed a £20 note in her mouth, a kitchen knife and yep, even the item made famous from Marley and me.. the underwear!! Funny how mummy and baby can be so different!

More pillow using

This pup will use anyone for comfort!

That picture of Molly and my mum just cracks me up. It's like she's helping her online shop haha, and yep, both these she has robbed the fire spot! Monkey sneaks in before you realise she's there!

Grandma's make the comfiest pillows

As you can tell, I'm loving the option of posting from my phone. It means I can do it when I'm on the bus, in a que or at work (but shhhh on that one) haha.

Here's Molly, now that its so cold outside we have to put our fire on In the evening. Molly being just like my old cat, Rocky, will sneak into that spot and claim it before you even realise. Then to add salt to the wound, she'll use you as a cushion!!

Two dog life

Training last night took a bit of a leap :-)
I finally took the plunge to take both dogs out, leash training at the same time. This is nothing to probably most dog owners but, as it says in the title, my dogs are mad haha!

It actually went really well though, I bought Molly a Halti harness rather than the head harness and its beyond amazing, it's like she's gone from crazy and rebellious to well trained in seconds! We saw no cats or dogs so it wasn't a very challenging training session but I take the good when I can!

I had a crazy dream about the pups last night too, where they could morph into snakes and tried eating each other like snakes do - I was pretty freaked out! Haha
